Green Is Good

This post's title is not a nod to the Wall Street movies.  Instead, it is an affirmation of what any naturephile knows instinctively - that looking at green, growing things is actually good for you.

There was an article making the rounds on Yahoo News this weekend extolling the health benefits of painting a room green.  This assertion is an offshoot of many studies (you can read one from the American Psychological Association here).  Scientists have found that viewing nature - even just grass and a tree - can cause more positive emotions and less anger, improve physical healing from surgeries, and lengthen attention span.

I wonder if having houseplants does the same thing.  If so, every office and classroom - especially classrooms! - should have them.  I think I'll research that.
